■Column■ Factory Tour part 2: The Spirit of Coloring
2024/12/11 Journal

Hi everyone, I am back for part 2!

The previous article is about wood shaping, so it is the time to do the base coating and painting.

Base coating is the process of applying a protective coating to the wood.

We will do the base coating one by one by hand with the cloth imprint technique.

Since each wood has its own patterns and characteristics, there are the areas where the color is more easily absorbed and the areas where it is not.

By assessing this and making adjustments, pressing the base coat with the cloth and allowing the base coat to penetrate along the wood grain is the most effective and precise way to creates a finish with a rich appearance.

After applying the base coat, we will continue with the polish.

Since our material is 100% natural wood, they tend to have a small defect and scratches on a surface.

Before we smoothen it out, a clear coating is applied.

We have polished it a lot during the wood shaping process, but from here we will do it again with an even finer sandpaper to get it in perfect condition before the final step which is painting.

Last but not least, painting.

This step will be done in 2 procedures which are coloring and finishing.

First, we will spray paint the hanger into the desired color, let it dry completely and then spray the finishing coat by hand, one by one, to create the desired finish depending on the products.

After finishing the painting and the hanger is completely dry, the quality inspection will be done next by our skilled QC checker.

If they found even the slightest stain and defect, that hanger will be returned to the first step.

This is all the procedure to create one hanger.

At NAKATA HANGER, we delicately and devotedly make our hanger with utmost care one by one to offer only the best high-quality hanger to every customer.
