Step 1. For front-opening clothes, fasten the second button and spread them out gently in a prone position on a flat surface such as a table.
Step 2. Measure the seams on both shoulders at the back of your garment in a straight line. This length is the "shoulder width" of the garment.
Step 3. Subtract 1-1.5 inch (2-4cm) from the shoulder width of your clothes. That is your best hanger size.
